    Replacing booster but keeping pad and cover

    I am replacing my booster seat. I am keeping my cover which I am sure makes no difference but I will also be keeping my pad. The new seat will be 5 years younger than the new seat. Should I also replace the padding? Does the padding make any difference for safety? Thanks Oceana
