I do this too!When you..
Walk into an department store and just so happen to have to walk past the carseats.
Fiddle around with every carseat you can get your hands on.

When you go shopping with a fellow carseat nut and peruse the carseat aisles... the minute you see parents shopping for a seat, you and your friend start a discussion conveniently stating you are a tech loud enough for any and all parents in said vicinity to hear. They then proceed over to you for advice and help! Yay!!! Is there any better way to spend an afternoon?
I have never done that (well, I have never said I am a tech, but I have LOUDLY started discussing carseats, measuring carseats, etc.)!
When you go to the movies and there aren't any seats left, so you go to Target to pass the time until the next showing and while there, find a scenera on sale for $27 and grab it (even though you already have at least 6+ seats sitting at home.)
When you go to Baby Depot and find a FP booster on clearance for $30 and even though your child will not be in a booster for at least another year even for short trips, you grab it. (Again, you already have at least 6+ seats sitting at home!)
I'm usually by myself so sometimes the potential car seat friends walk away because I am standing alone having a conversation about how I am a tech and where is that darn DOM sticker on this fabulous seat.
I always pull my tape measure out with great flourish...it seems to attract more attention that way.
Ummm, theoretically you now have 7+ seats at home since you just finished buying the Scerena on sale and NOW you are buying the booster.

I always carry a tape measure just for the purpose.

OMG this is hilarious! The poor cat. After having taught an 8 hr class, you are sitting around exhasted on the floor on an Evenflo Chase with your feet up on an over-turned (crashed) Century Infant seat, when the cat wanders by, so, for reasons that escape me now, but seemed perfectly logical at the moment, you turn the infant seat over, grab the cat, and buckle him up and take pictures.

When you decide you can't watch television at all anymore because of the misuse of carseats in commericals and televisions shows on the learning channel.
