Ah - the field trip issue! Forgot about that one!

When your child tells her friends she's not allowed to go to traveling camp because her mom is a "car seat nut". Thanks, DH for that wonderful term of endearment!

Oh forgot about field trips...

When you find yourself terribly nervous about your preschoolers first field trip, and question the school about how the kids will be restrained.

When you won't even allow your preschooler to go on a field trip because you question how they will be restrained. My girls start daycare next week and NO WAY would I sign the permission slip form.

When shopping for clothes, upholstered furniture or household linens, you think mostly about a particular fabric in terms of whether it might be a good material/color/pattern for a carseat manufacturer to use as a cover. ;)

OMG! Someone else does that too? ;):p

...the only time you've EVER shoplifted ANYTHING it was a locking clip from a display model because it was the only one you could find within 50 miles...

Our first field trip is tomorrow  and the school has told me that the vehicles have built-in harnesses! Of course I will be going on the trip to make sure of his safety :) so I will try to get a pic to post.

ROTFL at these, including the "borrowed" locking clip! :)

If this is a test to see if you're addicted, then I pass with flying colors...too many of these hit close to home. :p

My latest symptom? When I drove an hour round-trip on Sunday afternoon to pick up a Husky I'd found on Craig's List -- before confirming with my neighbor that she really wanted it. :)

When you go shopping with a fellow carseat nut and peruse the carseat aisles... the minute you see parents shopping for a seat, you and your friend start a discussion conveniently stating you are a tech loud enough for any and all parents in said vicinity to hear. They then proceed over to you for advice and help! Yay!!! :D Is there any better way to spend an afternoon?

when....EVERY TIME you hear a big rumble come down your block, you think it's the UPS man with your new Radian65 and get so excited that your heart starts racing.
or when....you had your kid FFing for a while and then found out that they could still be (if you wanted) RFing so you switch them back to RFing and EVERY ONE (including your DH) is looking at you like your nuts. "What are you talking about? She's been FFing this whole time and she's been fine?? What are you doing?" LOL!
when....your friends come to you to tell them about where to put their DD/DS harness straps or how to install their car seats properly.

You know when you are addicted when:

*You drag your boyfriend through the car seats.

*When said boyfriend asks you to please hide the car seats when his parents come to visit

*You try to figure out how many Targets you can hit on your lunch hour, because you read on the internet that they are clearancing seats

*You schedule a day 3 WEEKS in advance when you and a friend can go to the local specialty store to play with seats

*When you say "I cannot believe what I saw" and everybody walks away because they KNOW it's about a car seat!

Any many more!

I don't think I am quite as nutty as some of you;) but could see it happening. I only have 2 seats(if I had the means i would probably have one more)....I do look into cars and avoid looking into some cars and come on here way to much. I do watch people walk to their car just to see if they sit in seats and then if they dont fight with myself to say something but never can. I gave my mom a whole printout to give to the Dr she works for on RF....But I dont really like moving my seats around. I hate it actually and I have to go reinstall the regent(sbp) into my car b/c I had to use the PW today to fit 3 kids in my backseat.....and tomorrow will have to do it again b/c after me and dd get back from school I will have to switch it back to the pw before I go pick up my charges from summer camp:(
Anyway the seats I really want are an MA, the Recaro young sport and the signo or como. And I want the darn Madison cover for my ugly regent!!!

When you dream that you are out and about when your dd's carseat breaks, so you stop at a TRU to buy a new one. And it turns out the TRU is going out of business, and just look, there's a Britax Travaller Plus sitting on the shelf with a $5 price tag on it.

ANd then you wake up and wish, just wish the dream was actually a psycic (sp?) episode.

 I have never done that (well, I have never said I am a tech, but I have LOUDLY started discussing carseats, measuring carseats, etc.)!

When you go to the movies and there aren't any seats left, so you go to Target to pass the time until the next showing and while there, find a scenera on sale for $27 and grab it (even though you already have at least 6+ seats sitting at home.)

When you go to Baby Depot and find a FP booster on clearance for $30 and even though your child will not be in a booster for at least another year even for short trips, you grab it. (Again, you already have at least 6+ seats sitting at home!)
