Almost all of them, in North America. I'm only aware of one that requires/strongly recommends it in the US. There are many in Australia that do, but here? It's almost unheard of to require it. In fact it's usually not even an option except in combination seats that can use LATCH in booster mode.

Oh, good 2 know, thanks! My oldest is only 6yo and still in a Regent, so while I know plenty about convertibles & 5pt harnesses, Im a totally  about boosters.

Except the ones in Australia, and there was some questionable wording in some of the older... somethings from Recaro, I think?

In order to pass FMVSS 213 testing and therefore be legal in the US, they are tested without the tether. In fact, there is no provision in 213 to ever test a booster with a tether.

No, there was one that STRONGLY recommended the tether- they didn't require it, but it was worded in such a way that a lot of people interpreted it as required.

Yeah...which one was that? IIRC, it had a top tether but no lower anchors?

Yes, it's the Start. The top tether was so recommended that it used to come with a top-tether anchor to install in vehicles that didn't have them.
