Do I *NEED* a backup seat?

I don't have backup seats per se, but I keep seats got driving other people's kids. Otherwise they'd often be in nothing

I would say not. The only reason I keep one now is just in case my dad drives the car the main booster is in to work or my ex ruins his main booster. :) Otherwise I wouldn't even need one.

I have a Radian as a backup now. I keep it because 3 of my 4 kids could use it and it's nice for tight spots. DD doesn't need a backup since she can 5 step in most vehicles, and in an emergency type situation I'd have no problem with her in a seatbelt. I also need it for the front seat of DH's truck if we all need to take it somewhere. The Nauti works, but makes it hard for the driver because of the armrests.

OTOH, if it's a seat you can sell and get something out of, or even give to someone who needs it, then it would probably be fine to get rid of it. Being able to walk to the store if you need to is very helpful, as well as having so much family around. The only place I could walk is the feed store and that's down a 2 lane highway with a 55 mph speed limit and no sidewalks, so not safe. It would probably be safer to send DD on her horse. :p

Maybe you should just fold it and put it under the bed for a while. At least since it's a RN you can, right?

LOL, the radian is my only seat for DS2 right now. Its not going anywhere.

Do you think I need ANOTHER seat? ;)

Both of my kids have 1 seat in each of our vehicles and my parents' (so 8). I also have one backup for each kid. I would have said I didn't need the extra back up until DS threw up all over one of his seats and it took me a bit to get it put back together after washing it. If not an actual back up seat I'd get at least an extra harness and cover set.

I have been thinking about this myself lately. I have 2 gn's 1 Fr85, a Literider and a Probooster. I loved having seats for all occasions but it is just too much. Im getting rid of PB and getting TB for my moms car for emergency pick ups. But I don't need the spare GN. I just don't. I love having it but it is now in the closet and driving me nuts..

So, I think for me, DS2 will have a seat in each car and then I will have a portable lbb for DS1. That is all I need...

Disclaimer: I say this now, but I have always wanted a car that went... MOOOOOOO!
