My Ride--installation "green" space

I just got the MR today and my 2 y/o fits so well in it!!! I cannot believe how much room she has (as compared with the BLVD). I wasn't overly pleased with the install due to one side adjusting ... and it seemed like even when the latch was tight, there was still some movement (thinking it was less than 1in, but I am used to the BLVD installing with no wiggle room). I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times....by moving the 'foot' a little farther back from the latch connectors (ie. not pushed tight in the bight of the seat), I got a super tight install...but the little ball is slightly out of the green range on the leveler. I figure it means it's really close to 30 degrees--but don't know if it's too far. How accurate is the green leveler/ball? Is it better to have the tighter install? I was able to get tight installs on the BLVD even before doing the rear tether, so I don't think it's that that is throwing me on the MR.

Tips? It's an '07 Saturn Relay and DD is 24months/28lbs and says her nice seat is 'niiiiiiiccccccceeee".

ETA: And, my 5y/o (39lbs) doesn't fit too badly in the seat! He's too tall (head slightly above shell) but his shoulders are below the top slots, but it gives me hope that DD can use this seat for a while.

They're pretty good if you're on a level surface, but if you're not on a 100% level surface I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Wendy--Thanks! That was my gut feeling, but something I wanted to check on. So pleased overall with the seat! Waiting on the TF :) Gotta love new seats!!

And the ball indicator needs to be checked with your child IN the seat (the MR manual says this). So, it's possible that it will be entirely in the green with the weight of your child in the seat. Additionally, the angle could change after the install settles into the seat. Ours is in rock solid, but after the install settled in after a few weeks of DD riding in it, it's more reclined than when originally installed (and it's still in rock solid).

Thank you...Sheesh--I must've missed that when reading the manual. I'll check how it is with DD in it as well.

Your 5yo is not to tall for the seat FF. So long as the tips of his ears are below the top of the shell (and of course the top slots are over or at the shoulders and he is within the weight limit), then he still fits FF.

Thanks :)

He was trying it out while it was in the RF 'mode' and his head was above...I figured in FF mode, he'd have even more height....but--I may give it a try!!!
