Best high back booster

Looking to transition my son (40lbs/ 46”). He is a big sleeper in the car and I feel all the high back boosters are very upright and I feel his head would fall forward if he falls asleep. Is there a good one that may have some recline?
It would be in a 2017 Mazda6 so I don’t have the option to recline the seat Of the car. Thanks!

Hi! A few boosters, including the Peg Perego Flex 120 and the Clek Oobr, have recline options, and the Cybex boosters allow tilting back the head portion only.

That said, if a child can't stay upright when asleep, he may not be ready for a booster. How old?

I start teaching my children to look UP when sleepy before they leave the harness. Some people find a sticker on the car roof helpful for this. Looking up keeps the body up even when asleep.

I agree with Ketchupqueen- it really depends also on their age and maturity, even if they are at the 40 pound minimum weight for most high back boosters. Some boosters will pivot at the bottom to conform to the vehicle seat recline to some extent, of course that only helps if your rear seats recline a little, and the owners manual may prohibit excessive recline when using a child restraint.

He is 6. And I guess he’s never been in a position where he would fall asleep sitting up. Im just assuming he would fall forward. But you gave some great suggestions. Thank you!
