We have these foam knee boards and I would get some and make a wall. Or give your kids duct tape like a previous poster said.

I really think that if you tie his shoes together he could easily untie them. My dd can and does untie her shoes all the time in her carseat and they are double knotted & she is just 16 months.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I love the duct tape one:p though that would probably end up being an abused privlege, lol. Tying the shoes could work in theory, he does not have any tied shoes but knows how to get them undone. Taking off shoes wont work becase he takes his own shoes off and still kicks. Giving him a Ds or other thing does not work, not only does the 6 year old fight him for it but he likes to launch things over his head toward the front seat so I dont give him anything heavy because it could end up hitting me or Dh while driving. He does not understand sticker charts yet. I think my favorite suggestion is a barrier, I will have to experiment because it is tight between his seat and Dd in my vehicle, not a problem in Dhs F250 though. If I put the 12 year old in the middle it will just cause more whining than I want to hear and fighting between him and Dd...UGH!! I almost wish I had a van just to split them all up! Glad to hear he is not the only kicker but it still sucks!!

OK, I have your solution. Get a very large t-shirt and put the car seat in it so that the boot is sticking out through the collar. Then install the seat by threading the seatbelt/LATCH strap through the arms of the shirt with the body of the shirt pulled up around the shell. Put the little kicker in the seat, pull the shirt up over his legs, and mark where the crotch strap meets the fabric. Cut a hole for the crotch strap in the shirt. He'll have a binder for his legs he can't kick out of.

I had a piece of foam board from the dollar store so I doubled it up to make it stronger and put it between him and Dd. It works! He cant kick her but he does kick the board. Now I have to get one for the other side so he cant kick Ds1. I dont know how it will work in Dhs truck because its a wider back seat but it works so far in mine. I am able to shove it in the crease of the seats where they fold independantly of each other (03 Explorer so the rear seats fold)

Yay! You could give him stickers to put on it for good behavior if he can reach it ok.
