Ok I am sorry I started this thread and I am going to chaulk up my stupidity by too much sun and slurpees. :dizzy: One or two minor things I don't understand but I will be calling up another tech I know to get the answers from her.

There are years and years of experience here. You shouldn't feel bad about asking a question... asking questions is one way new techs learn a lot. There is sooo much to learn, it just takes time... it also never stops. ;)

Just wondering why it wouldn't be ok to use straps from one AOE on another AOE? Wouldn't it be the same as ordering ones? This was never discussed at our course at all.

The issue is not in using the straps on a different AOE. The issue becomes if you sell the new AOE with the old straps. Straps are a functioning part of the child restraint and should abide by the expiration date. So technically speaking, those old straps would expire before the date on the new AOE. Make sense?

See I didn't know that straps expired. I was always told it had to do with the shell not the straps or anything. It does make sense though. Hey Julie make sure you bring up the strap expiry at your course with Shauna, cause I don't know if she would know that they expire either. We did our course together.

I wouldn't be worried about using the straps on another AOE but would be worried about the straps expiring at the same time as the old seat shell as I would consider everything that has to do with safety on a seat (ex. shell, straps, tether, LATCH) would expire with/at the same time as the seat. I think over time the straps could weaken so if you put old straps with a new seat how would someone keep track of when each set expires

BTW: I have posted the new AOE for sale on a local for sale site and the old one will be going back to Cosco once I get the shipping labels intact---well I might see about keeping the cover for the new person. I put it on for $190 since it is $225 with tax new and this one has a March 2007 DOM.
Thank you everyone for the help. I have learnt alot here.

Sure, I will ask her. I just found out she was teaching the course today. There was another instructor lined up but I guess things changed. I am now waiting for a class outline from her :)

Good for you for sending the old seat back. I don't think I would feel right myself if I just kept it . . . now if they don't send you labels that's a different story!
