What are my options now?

Well, since Britax decided to change the way you can install your Regent - I now cannot get an acceptable install in either of our vehicles with the Regent.

What do I do for dd now? She is going to be 4 next month.
Her stats are:
36 lbs
40 inches tall
15 inch torso

She just had a "weight" growth spurt...so I"m expecting her height and torso to grow more here in the next couple of weeks.

The vehicles it needs to work in are: 2004 Nissan Xterra, 2000 BMW 323i, 2007 Nissan Altima, and 2007 Nissan Xterra.

TIA!!!

The Radian just seems like a really narrow seat...like it wouldn't be comfy, IMO. And with everyone who has had install issues with the Radian, it doesn't seem like it would be a much better choice than the Regent! lol If it comes down to it, it may be worth a shot. I could order from Target and return to the store if needed.

You could go with a Recaro Young Sport - if she's under the 3rd top slots in the marathon she'll be about the same in he Young sport - and then it turns into a really great booster.

Or you can wait for the como to come out... should have 2" taller top slots then the marathon.

go to walmart or BRU and try her in the new triumph. DS doesnt have any room in the MA but he does have a little in the new triumph... so she might be able to use it.

I really want a Recaro Signo....if I could find something to work in the meantime....I could wait until the Signo comes out - it is still August, right???

I don't know what seat I could get that would "hold me over" as a spare seat until then. She rides in the Marathon about 98% of the time.

Oooh, I forgot about the Triumph Advance. I loved our old Triumph when we had it. That might be an option. I'd just have to wait until this weekend to find one....we only have a TRU here, BRU are over 30 miles away. And it took our Walmarts over 6 months to regularly stock the Uptown, so I know they won't have a Triumph Advance in their stores.

check walmart anyway... ours took until like 2 months ago to finally get the uptown... but then the other day I was in there and there were the triumphs! the normal triumph was on display... but the new was under it in the box.

Its worth a shot...I'll take a look tomorrow at lunch, I wont have dd with me, but I can find out if they have them! I don't recall ever seeing a regular Triumph at any of our Walmarts, is Target going to be carrying the Advance?

Our Walmart doesn't have it yet, but I've also read here, the walmart Advance is not as nice as the BRU one. I haven't heard about Target, I've been looking a few times a week, but they haven't had it thus far. If she's in the Marathon 98% of the time, couldn't you just move it on the few occasions she would be in a different car until the Signo arrives. It is only about a month and a half. Or do you have any family/close friends that have an additional marathon you could borrow for a month or two? The Signo sounds so great, I wouldn't want to spend $ on a new seat when I could just make do for a month and a half more and possibly get the Signo instead. Just my:twocents:

I haven't had too much time to search today, but I am getting frustrated with the Regent we just bought and would lvoe to know if there are some threads with specific info on harnessed seats that currently offer HWL.

My son is 5 years old and about 45 lb. I am not sure how tall he is....he is using the 2nd slot in the regent. He had formerly been riding in a husky which I moved to my husbands car and got the regent for my car. I am wondering now if there is another alternative to the regent that I could either use for my car....or I could move the husky back to my car and use a different seat in my husbands.

Just FYI, you can order from WalMart online and choose to have it shipped to your local store for free, then just pick it up there. It says it takes 7-10 days for delivery, but that's not bad if you can wait that long.

The Walmart Triumph Advance looks nothing like the BRU Advance. It's very plain looking and is not as nice feeling. I guess that's why it costs less too. I believe Target is supposed to carry one in the future also. Someone here posted that. I think the woman who works for Evenflo.

Well, I do like the BRU Advance better than the WM one. The WM one is ugly, IMO.

I can't switch the MA back and forth until the Signo comes out because someone else has to pick Jana up from preschool about half the time some weeks. And on days where I'm stuck in traffic, I end up calling df to go pick her up. If I'm stuck in traffic with the seat in my car, he can't pick her up, then I'll have to pay a late fee to the daycare. I can't leave the seat at the daycare when I drop her off because 1) I wouldn't want a good installation to be compromised because of installing and re-installing on a daily basis and 2) they don't have room in their foyer for carseats to be left on a daily basis, oh and 3) df isn't as good at installing seats as I am!

So, looks like we may have to try an Advance in the hopes of selling it when the Signo comes out...or a booster for those occasional trips where he has to pick her up from school - but I don't really want to go with that option as she is not 40 lbs yet and she's only almost 4.

What we do when I need someone to pick up dd from pre-K, but they don't have a carseat...I just get them to pick her up and then they sit there for 10 minutes listening to the car radio or playing until I (and the carseat) get unstuck out of traffic and arrive. It works in a pinch.

I think I am going to go with the Ez-on 86-Y harness with a good quality high back booster rated for her age. (I am considering the Compass right now, but I really don't like any of their cover styles. :( ) We are having a similar problem, as dd's torso height is 14 3/4" and her weight is hovering just below 40 pounds. If you got this combo, then you wouldn't need to sell it (just stick it back once the Recaro arrives), as you could still use both once she is past the limits for the Marathon and you needed to upgrade again. Plus it would keep her in a 5 point harness till she was 100 pounds.
