Weird pop-up

Twice so far this evening I've gotten a weird pop-up when I've clicked on a thread title. The thread comes up, but so does a little pop-up window with the message:

The server www.seatcheck.net at comingsoon requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).

And then there is a box for username, one for password, and a clicky box for "Remember my credentials," followed by boxes to click for "Okay" and "Cancel."

I've just clicked on Cancel and the box disappears. But I'm not sure why I'm getting the pop-up to begin with.

I'm using IE9 on a PC if that matters.

I got that too on my iPad. I thought I just accidentally clicked one of the ads. I guess not.

Seatcheck.net is my personal business website. It's run on an entirely different server. That pop-up box is a standard login to access the website software. The question is why does it pop-up here. Can you tell me exactly what you clicked when it happened and if you can make it happen all the time or just randomly?

I forgot that Car-Safety.Org is hosted on the same server as Seatcheck.net and the issue affected both sites. There are a lot of links from here to Car-Safety.Org, so perhaps that was part of the issue. Anyway, it was not any kind of security or malware issue, just a secondary login window to access information at the other server that hosts Car-Safety.Org and Seatcheck.Net. Sorry- it's fixed now.
