Vehicle seat recline?

I’m installing a Safety First MultiFit forward facing in a captains chair in a 2018 Toyota Sienna using latch. I am unable to get the seat flush with the vehicle seat and not have a gap at the bottom unless I recline the vehicle seat some. Is that permitted? I don’t see anything in the seat or van manual. The car seat incline is at 1.

Hi there!

A gap at the bottom is totally normal and expected. With nearly all seats forward facing it's hard to NOT have it.
