Safety 1st Onside Air - Southwest?

Hello! I've been lurking about this board for a while in preparation for a cross-country flight with our 16-month-old son later this week on Southwest. (3 hour flight, 3 hour layover, then 3 hour flight)

We have a hefty Britax Boulevard CS 70, which we were not thrilled about lugging all over the place and weren't sure it would even fit comfortably on the plane. I've been reading this board and thought I knew what to do -- we were all set to pick up a Cosco Scenera but our local stores are all sold out and I couldn't find one that wasn't bright pink. So, I picked up the Safety 1st Onside Air because I hear it's made off the same base.

Has anyone flown with one of these on Southwest Airlines? Any install problems I should watch out for? I'd love to do RF but it sounds like that can be pretty hard to pull off on a plane. I guess we'll see on Thursday!

Thanks in advance

The Onside Air will work great. You may need to lift the armrest up to install it but you won't need a belt extender. I've flown Southwest with the Scenera many times and it was very easy.

Thanks. I just got an email from Southwest reminding me of my upcoming trip. When I clicked on a link in the email about traveling with children, it told me that only a CRS that was 16 inches wide or less would fit, even if the armrests are up. Um, do those even exist?? I'm glad there are some pros around here to ask. Thanks!

It won't be a problem. They don't measure. And since the baby will be next to you, what does it matter if it intrudes into your seat. Just don't sit in the bulkhead row.
