S/O Fixing rip in car seat

Purchased seat from NBD for DD2. Obvious that the seat was never used but a cat must've climbed on it (hence the pet hair) and one of it's claws ripped the cover--3/4 inch). So, the original owners returned it. NBD offered a refund but I really wanted to keep the seat. Britax is supposed send out a new cover (thank God).

Issue: Now DD1 also wants a pink cover instead of her Maui one. Therefore, I am going to end up using both the new set and this one with the tear.

Any ideas on how to fix the tear? Appliques, no sew tape w/ material ironed on top of it, etc? Right now, I put some Hello Kitty tape over it lol.

Thanks!

There is a sew company right up the street. I will venture there this week to purchase some matching thread and rounded needle. I will be sure to take the head cover over there so that I can match it as close as possible.

Ask for a product called fray check Its a liquid that will coat the cut fibers and keep it from spreading. Then sew it up, you want a cotton thread so the thread is weaker than the material because if something is going to give you want it to be the thread much easier to replace a few stitches!
