RFing convertible touching front seat?

Are there certain RFing convertibles that can touch the seat in front of them and some that can't? We have an Evenflo Tribute and I can't find anything in the manual. Right now it isn't touching anything else. When we buy another convertible for a second child it would be nice if it could touch the seat in front of it.

Evenflos cannot. Most can touch, though they can't be held down by the front seats (Graco falls in here). Some, like the Britax, encourage bracing, they want their seat to not move at all in a collision. But Evenflos need I think at least an inch or more between them and anything else.

I think Evenflo is the only manufacturer that doesn't allow it. Not 100% sure, though. You also need to check your vehicle's manual to make sure they do not prohibit it.

It's my understanding that it's only the Evenflo *infant* seats that require one inch b/t them and the seat in front of them. Our Evenflo Triumph and Tribute manuals don't say that they can't touch the seat in front of them (unless I missed it).
