Hi there,

I'm expecting my first baby & right before I got pregnant I purchased a 2011 Mini Cooper Convertible. Now I'm looking for a car seat that will fit this car! Does anyone have any suggestions on what fits? I'm trying to register & would like to add this to my registry.

Thank you so much in advance!!!

We have a Clubman. But, we did test drive a Cooper (2011) and easily fit a Classic Marathon (however, neither my husband or I are very tall). The classic won't work from birth, but the next gen Britaxes should fit as well. We have also installed a Keyfit and a classic Roundabout in the Clubman. A Cocorro would also fit, most likely.

Good luck!

I have a regular mini (2009) and used a maxi-cosi mico infant seat and now use a RF Combi coccoro. With the mico installed rear passenger side, I couldn't use the front seat at all. With the coccoro, the front seat is usable but it's a tight squeeze.
I would definietly reccomend using an infant bucket seat to start though. I always loaded the infant seat in from the passenger side. Once we switched to the coccoro, I have to climb into the back from the drivers side holding DD. It's a pain but I love my car too much to switch to some boring sedan or jumbo SUV.

Also, the main reason I chose the mico was because it snapped onto the Quinny Zapp stroller (regular not xtra) and the Zapp was one of the only strollers that fit in the trunk.

I know this post is old, and my reply is not useful to the original poster, but putting this out there for any new parents/MINI-owners looking for similar info.

I have a 2013 MINI Convertible S and have used the Britax B-SAFE rear-facing infant seat in the back passenger side without issue: http://www.britaxusa.com/car-seats/b-safe/image-gallery

I keep the base installed and drop in/out the seat as required. My 5'6" wife can even use the front seat for really short trips. (She still complains, since her knees touch the dashboard, but it's workable for short distances.) Of course, without the baby/car seat and just the base installed in the back seat, the passenger seat is fully useful.

Hope that helps. :)
