Question Recaro PS Conversion to Booster

Converting my Recaro Performance Sport into HBB from harnessed mode. Manual says to "snap the yoke into its storage position on the rear side." Does it really snap in or just sort of rest? Should it slide in? I've been struggling with it and can't get it to really stay in. Any suggestions on technique? Does it matter once it's installed or is it just for convenience?

Also, if we don't have tether anchors, what is the best way to make sure the tether isn't just loose? Just put it behind the seat or is there a best way to secure it? Thanks in advance.

It's meant to keep it out of the way. If you shorten it a bit more does it fit tighter?

Check the manual diagram for "tether storage." If not indicated, shorten it as much as possible and tuck in the end to prevent it being a hazard.

It's supposed to snap. Mine is really hard, too. I think I used something other than my fingers to push it in the last time I did it. I think I put the bottom in first, then push on the top to get it in.

As for the tether. I'm pretty sure there is storage for it too, but I'm blanking. Maybe I do shorten it as much as possible and just install it behind the seat.

Yeah, that on the hard snap. I had to have my dh do it, and I'm not a weenie! I think there are little box-like holders for the ends of the LATCH strap, and maybe a cloth loop for the tether strap?
