my SIL just got a key fit 30 cubes from her cousin for her baby due anytime. the cousin cut off the strap covers because her baby threw up on them. Can you replace those or buy replacements or is it safe to use after market ones? HELP

Aftermarket, no, but I'm sure you can get more from Chicco.

It would have been a tad harder, but more sensible, if she'd just removed the harness from through them and taken them off. hehe

 Why did her cousin cut them? Such a waste. I had that exact seat and all she would have had to do to remove and wash them was to unhook the harness from the splitter plate, slip the harness out through the harness slots, and slip off the strap covers. It's just like if she were raising or lowering the harness slots, but instead she would slip off the strap covers and return the strap to it's original slot. It is really easy.

If I were your SIL, I would call chicco to order new covers and make sure she knows she can remove them (without cutting) for washing. ;)

I emailed Chicco and will follow up with a call if I don't hear from them. They were closed today naturally. I did tell SIL what to do if that happens with this baby. Cousin didn't even think about that!

Don't worry about having the covers right away. They were too big to use with my newborn born at 7 pounds, 8oz. We left the hosp @ 2 days old, so he was a bit smaller, but I don't know by how much.
