Does it have the FAA label to be installed on airplanes?

How heavy is it?

yes it is FAA approved. It's...um...not as heavy as the GN. I think I read online it's 16 pounds. But I bet those darn cupholders would go over the armrests on a plane (but then again, people say the TF fits).

How long can you leave the infant padding in? I'm specifically thinking of DD here. If it holds her torso straight but I have to take it out at 22 lbs, it's useless to me.

I think in the review thread it said you can only use the infant padding when the harness is in the first slot.

Right, only when using bottom slots. Shaunam, honestly, I'm not sure it would do more for her than rolled receiving blankets would. No snark here, just trying to be helpful because I know you have problems finding supportive seats for her :) Though...the seat itself is kind of enclosing.....so maybe it would work with rolled receiving blankets? (sorry, I know I read a post about support and don't remember why they didn't work for you).

Well rolled receiving blankets don't work at all because they don't stay in place. I've resorted to "no-no" cushions I've made for her. *I* feel she's safe, even though they are aftermarket because 1) She fits better with them than without them and 2) it's just a thin layer of fabric behind her. But they are fugly and don't match her seat at all. I know, kinda stupid. LOL

I'm hoping an enclosed seat that's snug on her torso would keep me from having to use anything but rolled blankets. We'll just have to see.... I'm very tempted to buy an uptown for that reason. I'd rather have a this seat though. For the novelty of it.

How wide is her torso? It's not as huggy as the Uptown. I have an Uptown and think Sofi looks too squashed. In her pics of the MR (we're not currently using it) she doesn't look squashed, just slightly enclosed. If that makes any sense.

I think the seat is possibly more "huggy" than the EFTA....even though the EFTA is "huggy" in its own way. But I can't comment on how it compares to an Avenue/Uptown. If I were you, I would def. try to find one to compare for Charlie. Is the Como/Signo "huggy?" I've never seen one in person. Also, are you eligible for any special needs seat that might be helpful for her? I have to say that when faced with using an infant cushion for support past the guidelines, vs. doing nothing, I think I'd use the cushion for my special needs child. Maybe you could still use the MR cushion for her? (Sorry if anyone is upset by that idea! But I have a special needs sister, and sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!)

The only SN seats (that I know of) with lots of extra support and padding are ff'ing only. We qualify for a britax traveller and she's technically old enough/big enough for it but eek! I've seen another kid with CP her size in it and it works, but oh hell no, not for my kid! LOL

What we are doing now, works, it's just annoying. I was going to drag her to big lots to try the uptown, but they don't have one out of the box we can try. Once the MR hits the babiesrus here, I may take her there. It's just kind of far.
