Not sure which seats to buy

My DD, (4y/o, 37 lbs, 42") is just about to outgrow her Classic MAs so I've got to get some new seats. She's an only child, so size of the seat matters, but I don't have to worry about fitting other seats, really. I've got a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee and DH has a 2004 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. She rides in my Jeep probably 95%+ of the time so I'm torn between a FR85 or an Argos in mine and trading one of her MAs in at the BRU event this weekend. I'm really, really torn between the two and of course, in my car, Pink HAS to be the color of the seat. I want her harnessed in mine for at least another year. DD likes both seats so she's no help at all!

DH would kind of like to keep her harnessed in his truck, but at the same time, his vehicle might be a good opportunity to start HBB training with her since she rides in it so infrequently (and she's VERY mature and sits very still in the car so I'm not worried about her ability to do it). With DH's truck, she rides in the center, but there's no center LATCH and the owners manual states that you can't borrow the side LATCHs. But, if we got a HBB with flexible LATCH, wouldn't we be able to use the outboard LATCH since they are really only just keeping the seat from being a projectile and not "holding" the kiddo? Which HBBs have flexible LATCH compared to the fixed LATCH? I would honestly rather spend the money on a LATCHed HBB for his truck rather than spend the same amount on something like a Maestro. For as little as she's in there, I just can't see getting a FR85 or Argos.

A Frontier or Nautilus or Argos would be great for your car, and all at BRU for a trade in. You may have more luck in store with pink in one of the Gracos than the Frontier, fyi.

For your husband's car, I'd look at the Diono Monterey. I don't know if you can LATCH in the center, to be honest, with a booster. The Parkway SGL has LATCH, but she's not heavy enough (40 pound minimum). The Clek Oobr has LATCH, but it's rigid. So that leaves the Monterey that I know of.

If your vehicle says not to use center LATCH then I won't use it for a booster either. You just know don't what it will do in a crash. If you buy a LATCHable booster I would put her outboard.

Ok, thanks. I think I'm going to get the Argos this weekend at BRU with the trade-in and then wait on doing something for DH's truck until DD needs to be moved out of her MA. That way I can try out the Argos and if for some reason I don't like it in mine, I can get a FR85 for me and move the Argos to DH's. :)
