Question Nautilus pieces cracking at year 3, what do I do?

Has anyone had this happen?? I thought they were good for 6 years! We are taking the seats apart to wash and inspect and change since the Nautilus is getting handed down from my 6 year old to my 3 year old, and I find that one piece is so cracked it split completely when I inspected, and the other is about to do the same thing. WWYD? Only seat I've seen this happen with, we've had Boulevards otherwise and they've never had issues.

Thanks for any advice!

The Nautilus has a one-year warranty. The six years is the expiry -- you can use the seat for six years UNLESS it develops problems. Call Graco in the morning and see what they recommend.

I would definitely call Graco. Even though the warranty has passed, I'd ask if there's anything they can do because that really shouldn't be happening. I had a piece deform after about 3 years and they sent me a new one for free as a goodwill gesture, but they didn't have to do that. Ask nicely. :) Good luck!

I plan on calling in the morning, even though I fired off an email a little bit ago.

I posted on Facebook and my friend just commented. She bought one on recommendation from me (I'm the car seat safety person in our circle). They just did a coast guard relocation and in the middle she noticed the cracking as well and just chucked the whole seat and bought a booster as she had too much on her plate with the move as it was.

I would think that if they are suffering this much plastic degradation, that they should recall and figure out a system that doesn't suffer from this.

I've seen that on here before. It's just the plastic covering the metal. It still shouldn't happen, but I don't know that'd it become a safety concern. Hopefully they will send you new buckles. They don't use those same ones anymore. What they switched to are not well liked BUT they just announced they are changing to better ones. I'm not sure if you'd have any luck asking for their new IMMI buckle specifically.

The harness assembly cost 10.00 I think. I have an original GN from 2008 but I replaced harness in 2010.

auto correct hates me

Thank you!! I called this morning and they are sending replacement pieces. Thank goodness! I was worried they were gonna say I was outta luck. The one piece that broke off has sharp edges so happy to replace them.

They are awesome about customer service.. But even if they were going to make you pay for it, Their replacement parts are not at all expensive.
