Ok so my SIL & BIL have a Hyundai Elantra (2009) and a Chevy Impala (2009) and my nephew is 4 months old in a KeyFit. Soooo question is they want to use LATCH to install the seat in the rear center of both vehicles even though I installed the base in the Elantra with the seatbelt and showed them how and all. I got the manual out and showed them that the KF only allows LATCH where the anchors are 11 inches apart. PLUS the Elantra has outboard lower anchors only and I told them borrowing is NOT allowed! Grrr, they were going to try! Anyway, they got a second base and installed it themselves in the Impala using LATCH in the center without checking if that is ok or not. THey say it is just easier for them so they do it! I cant check the car manual or measure it (they live 30 minutes away) so I am hoping someone can tell me if that is OK for the Impala and the KF? Oh and they are about to put him in a convertible soon and I got them a MR so let me know about LATCH with that too if possible! Thanks!!
