I don't know the answer to the question about the folded over shoulder belt. Mine has never done that, but I have the old type of lock-offs. (I'm not impressed by the new design).

How did you install it RF? Did you pull the seat away from the seat bight an inch or two and then push down on the seat where the legs would go (down by the adjuster, not the butt). Then tighten the seatbelt or LATCH (whatever you're using). This will make it VERY upright. Then use the top tether to adjust the recline.

If that still doesn't work then you can try installing it without the seat being in recline mode. That worked well in my old car and it is approved by Britax last time I heard.

I have had that happen when I am installing my MA and now I install it and make sure that the seatbelt is flat in the lock-off before I tighten it; this way it doesn't seem to twist like that.

If you pull your tether too tight then it will make your seat more reclined. It doesn't have to be tight you just don't want slack. Try maybe when it is a bit cooler (morning) so you don't get as frustrated and maybe put your knee closer to the back of the vehicle seat so that it is more upright when you are putting your weight on it; that might help get it more upright. HTH, let us know how you make out.

I dont use the lock offs, i was then it was looking like it was putting to much stress on the seatbelt, almost a hole, and the seat is very tight with out the lock offs, so is it okay to have that belt twisted like that?

Then you rachet your seatbelt

I'm not sure if that is okay, I would try to prevent it if at all possible but if you can't I don't think it is a big deal. Hopefully someone else here will chime in!

If you are locking the seatbelt and not using the lock-off then that twist is fine.

I've had this happen with a number of seats when using a switchable belt (the ratcheting kind).

I wouldn't be using the FF lock-offs on the seat either. I don't like their new design at all.

Is this in a captains chair?

Mine will do that sometimes and my seatbelts are slippery and don't hold in the lockoff well so I use the locking belt. Mine ratchet. I recline the captians chair and install as tight as I can with the belt flat in the lockoff. It is looser than I like, but then I pull the captains chair back up to tighten it. The belt stays flat when I do this.
