I had to switch cars with dh today because he got a flat last night and I had to go get it fixed ($700 and 4 new tires later, of course). He drives a 2005 Subaru Outback XT wagon and we've only had it for a few months. I had to fit all 3 kids in it to go to swim lessons and back and I'd rather stab myself than deal with that install on a regular basis. I had the old Parkway passenger side, Bubblebum center and the Cocorro driver's side. The boosters were almost impossible to buckle this way and neither of them could buckle or unbuckle themselves. I checked the 3 across thread but didn't find much help there.
Passengers are:
DS1 - almost 9 yo, 65 lbs, 54" tall
DD - 5.5 yo, 35lbs, 43" tall
DS2 - 21 months, 23lbs, no idea how tall
I own 2 Harmony Literiders, 1 Turbobooster, 1 Monterey, 1 Old style Parkway that expired a couple of months ago <ducks tomatoes>, 1 Nautilus, 1 Roundabout 50 and 1 Cocorro.
I tried the Cocorro center and the Parkway next to it and it fit, but it was tight to buckle. With the Cocorro and Parkway outboard, the Literider was just too wide to fit between. If the boosters are outboard I can cheat them out a bit but the seats slant down from the door a bit.
DD normally rides harnessed in the Nauti in my van but I knew there was no way it would work in a 3 across in that car. I'm wondering if my best bet would be to get a Radian that she could use in dh's car knowing that I could pass it to the baby when he outgrows the Coccoro RF. Maybe by then DS2 will 5 step in dh's car so I will only need to deal with the RF Radian and 1 booster?
