I am flying from CA to MA with my 6 month old twins and wonder if the Graco SugRide32 - the bigger of the sugride carseats, will actually fit on the airplane in a coach (economy) seat. Does anyone know this answer or have experience as to which infant - rear-facing- carseat will fit?

HELP!! PLEASE

Hi Wendy,

Thanks! - have you by chance had any personal experience with these car seats on an airplane?

It'll fit. You don't need the base on board, btw. That'll help.

Wendy

In addition to not needing the base on the plane, you actually can't use the base on the plane because the buckle of the airplane belt ends up in the middle of the base, on top of the lockoff, and blocks the carrier from hooking into the base.

Thanks Again!!

I feel a lil better now, my husband is more freaked out about the trip than I am, I just want to make sure I won't be needing to purchase different car seats for our trip. If I was a frequent flyer with the kids, it may be worth the investment, but since we only fly once maybe twice a year, it isn't worth it to purchase something else we don't really need if I can avoid it... plus it would mean buying 2 of something else.. not just one! :)

ooo and I figured on not bringing the bases on the plane, I think I will pack them though so that we have them at our destination to make it easier getting in and out of the car if it is raining or snowing :) ... .. we will be renting a vehicle there, and not comfortable renting a car seat thru the rental companies.. the cars they have are already basic, I can only imagine the chinzy child seats they would have that they would charge you an outrage price for...

Thanks again for the info...
