Question Frontier or GN

Hi all,

I am a longtime lurker. I've gotten a lot of good info here.

Question...my son, who will be 5 soon, has almost outgrown his MA. He has a GN in our other car which he loves. He wants another one and won't even consider a Frontier. I want a Frontier because it'll last longer and the cowmoo will match our other cowmoo MA (very important, lol). Also, my younger son is really tall and I'd like to pass it down so I know it will fit him longer than a GN. So my question is, do most kids like the Frontier? Thanks!

My kids don't get to pick their seats. I would get the frontier if he is that old.

What harness slit is he on in GN ?

auto-correct on the loose..

I don't know which slit, I can check later, but his torso height is 16-16.5 in. His shoulders are just a smidgeon below the straps in the MA. Normally I would just buy the seat I thought was best, but I took him to Babies R Us to sit in the Frontier to make sure he fit well, and he saw the GN and said he wanted that one and not the Frontier. I'm assuming he won't really care when I get it installed though. He likes the cup holders and cubby in the GN. I pointed out two cup holders in the Frontier. Didn't care. Lol.

If I can let my kid have the seat they want, and it makes travel easier for both of us, I'm all for letting them choose as long as the seat fits them and the vehicle well.

For example, my 7 1/2 year old kept bugging me to go backless. However, she'd also asked me for the Julius booster ever since she saw it. I was able to score one for a great deal from a mama here and DD is now happily riding in her high back booster. She's not griping, and I'm not having to listen to it. ;) It's a win, win in my book. And as a bonus, I am much happier with the belt fit on the Oobr than the TB on her. :D

Good point, Glockchick. If I suggest a Frontier in red (his favorite color) he might be excited! After looking at a red FPSVD for years, though, I might not be as excited for another red seat. :)

Of course I may try to guide their decisions a bit. Lol

And there are times I just tell them they're getting a specific seat and let them pick the color/print.

DH checked and said the harness is on the 2nd slot. I'm not sure if that's correct...but his torso is 16-16.5 inches and straps are above his shoulders.

Maybe DS is just anti-Frontier because he knows I want the cowmoo and he doesn't want the same cover as his baby brother! :)
