Free Eyes, Lips, Face makeup kit

I just made my order. You can order ANYTHING...I ordered a $1 item & enter LOYAL at checkout & get a free mini makeup kit. The kit contains 9 eyeshadows, 1 cream eyeshadow, 1 blush, 1 bronzer, 10 lip gloss shades, 1 brow powder, 1 eye liner pencil, 1 dual ended eyeshadow applicator/brush, 1 face brush, & 1 lip brush. Shipping was $6.95 bringing my total to $7.95.

I've been meaning to try ELF for a while now because I've heard good things about them. Sure, it's not MAC like I usually use, but this is cheap, so if I don't like it, hey....I don't really care. I ordered the Shimmering Facial Whip in Toasted which won an Editor's Best award in 2008 from Allure.

Anyway, just wanted to pass the info along in case anyone else wanted to try it!

I barely wear Make Up but can't pass up a deal.

Everything is only $1 though. Are they all sample sizes? Or are they really $1 (Eyeliner, Brushes, etc).

This is the first time I've ordered from them. My impression is that they are the regular sizes, but I'm not sure. Every time I've looked at the site, the items are always $1. :shrug-shoulders:

Yes, they are full sized. That is the deal with ELF is that everything is $1! :) Pretty good quality IMO, but then, I haven't ever even seen MAC much less used it :p

I have purchased from them before and the items are full sized, but they are very low quality. They are similar to the kind of makeup you'd find in the dollar bins at Target.

Hhmmm....ok. So maybe I just spent $7.95 for play makeup for my dd. Well, I suppose this goes under the category of you never know unless you try, right?!

I'd be curious to see what everyone thinks of the makeup when they get it, so post here. TIA!

I buy this for play makeup for my dd, you can't beat it, and it IS better quality than the crap SOLD as "play makeup". In fact, my mom and sister, who use makeup, actually use some of the products as regular makeup.
I don't use, care about, or have any flying idea what the difference is in makeup, so I wouldn't know personally.
Maybe I should start using makeup again........back in the day when I used makeup, i painted my eyes black and my lips bloodred. Is that still in?

I barely wear makeup, but I needed orange nail polish for halloween and I'm out of blusher... and who can pass up a deal this good? I could spend more at the drug store just for blush and the polish

Ok, so I got my package this week. Has anyone else gotten theirs? I did use the shimmering facial whip (the item I paid for) & was it great? No, but it didn't suck either. I mean, it was a buck. LOL! I didn't like it as a highlighter, but I did use it as a creamy eye shadow & layered powered shadow over it.

I haven't tried the kit yet, but might tomorrow. I don't have high hopes for it, but I don't really care either way. Let me know what you guys think if you got your stuff. I'm curious to hear your thoughts!

Ok, so I tried the kit today & used the blush & two eyeshadows. I gotta say....I'm impressed. Maybe it's because I was expecting it to be crap based on what was said here, but I thought it was pretty good. Not as nice as my MAC or Benefit stuff, but I'd say it's at least as good as Ulta's brand of makeup. It went on easily & had great pigmentation (in fact, it was darker than it looked like, so it's definately the kind of stuff you use a little bit & then add a little more to get the desired effect).

I have no idea how long it will last. I hate it when makeup seems to disappear off your face in an hour. I'll let you know as the day progresses. I know stuff wears differently on different skin types, so perhaps that's it. I know many people swear by Bobbi Brown, but I spent like $150 on that brand at Nordstrom & took it back the next day because the stuff the clerk applied didn't last on me. Maybe that's the deal with the Eyes, Lips, Face...it just wears differently on different people. I'll update you guys tonight or tomorrow.

But, I'm very happy with it considering I only spent $7.95!! Oh, & the deal is still going on in case anyone didn't get it & wants to now. It would make a great little holiday gift!

I got the free kit, too, and have since placed two more orders. It is really great on my skin. Clinique, Benefit, and the like all make my skin like the makeup has been pasted on. The ELF however, gives me more of a glowy, dewey look. I say try it, at the very least. It's only a buck! So far I've used: pressed powder, bronzer, shimmering facial whip, all over color stick, eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipgloss. I still swear by my Cover Girl Tru Blend foundation. To get the dewey look I put the facial whip OVER the bronzing powder, then use the color stick on my eyes. :)

Hey, what color shimmering facial whip did you get? I'm not in love with the one I got...it's ok, but I would probably order it in another color. I got Toasted.
