Hi we were testing out FF in our Mazda 3 my daughter is 19 months and just about 30 pounds she is riding in a cosco scenera and we wanted to install in in the middle FF. We were wondering if you can borrow the seat anchors from the side seats or should we use the middle seat belt? Also there is no place for the tether only on the side as well we did in stall it and the seat is very tight does not move at all. We just are not sure if it can be done this way. Any advice would be greatly appreciated since I am already a nervous wreck turning her FF.

Thanks!

Why are you turning her?

The Mazda 3 has tethers in all three locations. It also allows borrowing if the carseat is ok with it, and Dorel is fine with it as long as the car is ok with it. So you can, or a seatbelt installation is fine. You cannot use the lower anchors without the top tether, so make sure you find the appropriate top anchor (you cannot use a side tether for a center install).

Agreed - I would not be turning a 19 months old when we can continue to RF for another 5 lbs - is there a reason?

What the others said. I would never allow a 19 month old child to ride forward facing in my car.....not safe. Is there a specific concern or problem that you have? Maybe if we hear it, we can offer a solution that will keep your child safely rearfacing :)

She is just a few pounds away from 30 we are NOT truning her yet but just trying out the insall FF. I know it can take a while for her to gain just a pound since she only gained 1 pound in the last 3 months.

Thanks!

What is the date of manufacture on your seat? Dorel has had 35# RFing seats for a long time! If your seat is indeed 30# RFing, either it's not a Scenera or it's way past expiry (which, um, would also probably mean it's not a Scenera).

I know it is not expired I check the date when I bought it I have not had it even a year yet and bought it brand new form walmart so it must br 35 lbs but I will chek it again just to be sure! Thanks!
