EZ On Tether Anchor?

Wondering if there's any way to have an EZ On tether anchor for the center position in a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee? There is someone in the three across thread that says they have on in a 2002. Thanks guys!

An EZ-On HDTA is an aftermarket anchor. If you can find a safe place to install it, you can put it in any vehicle. There are specific requirements for location, but I'd guess that an 01 and 02 are not too different in that regard. If you call EZ-On you can get the requirements for installation location from them and see if you can find such a location in your car.

Do you specifically need the higher weight limit, or what? You should have 3 TAs already in your vehicle.

Our Grand Cherokee only has two. They are both outboard.

We recently installed the E-Z-On heavy duty tether anchors in our family car.

If you can find a safe place to install it, you can put it in any vehicle.

From reading the instructions, I found it quite hard to deduce exactly what the "safe" place was as the instructions are not entirely clear. Having phoned E-Z-On and clarified the rules, I was able to proceed. I have attached a drawing showing where, in relevance to the passenger, the anchor may be installed.

In addition to the conditions in the drawing, the tether anchor must be installed within +/- 20 degrees of the centerline of the tether strap.

If you can find a location which satisfies these requirements and that you can access easily enough to properly torque up the nut and bolt, then there is no reason why you cannot install the anchor.
