Oh dear... :eek: I hope we don't get that here! Apart from the 40lb harness limit, it only boosters to 57lbs then you have to go to a seatbelt only as Australia no longer allow backless boosters under their new laws. It won't have LATCH either.

The "genital clearance" test has to be passed over here for a car seat to meet the standards. Also, backless boosters are still available to buy, and the law doesn't say they cannot be used... yet. But don't get me started on that :p

FWIW, there's US evidence that high back boosters may provide the same amount of protection in the vast majority of crashes as backless do, due to the child's head moving out of the head wings during a crash.

I've heard this too. I think the AU car seat people must have issues. While our standards are really strict blah blah blah, they don't seem to get much else right.
