My 4-month-old is 20 lb and about to outgrow his SnugRide 22, which has worked well for us. I'm not sure about his height, but he was 26" a couple weeks ago.

I'm looking for a convertible that he can go RF in for as long as possible. The seat will be in a Sonata, so I don't think space is an issue now, but down the road, he may have at least one little brother or sister.

If I understand correctly, I saw some seats have to be removed to rethread the harness. If that means what I think it means (like the SnugRide), I would prefer not to have that.

I could pay $300 if it meant the seat would last longer & meet our needs well, but I don't need to pay that much just for a name if there is something good at a lower price point.

I also am wondering what features I'm not thinking of now will become important as he gets older--like what he'll find comfortable as a toddler, or what I'll wish I'd have thought about since I hope this seat will last as long as possible.

Thank you very much for your help!

I'd look first at the Graco Size4Me/MySize70. I think it ticks all of your boxes. At Buy Buy Baby it's the Size4Me, at BRU (just coming into the store, mine didn't have one in stock yet) it's the MySize70. Some Targets have had the Size4Me as well. It's the tallest rear facing seat out there, doesn't take up a lot of front to back room, fits small babies well, and fits tall babies really well. It's about $180. My only concern is that it rear faces to 40 pounds, and you might want 45.

There is a seat that might work for you with a 45 pound rear facing weight limit. The Peg Perego Convertible. But it's $380.

Thanks very much for your reply, Wendy. Last night I saw your reply to a question about a convertible for a tall child & was thinking about the Radian, which looked great except that I read it might be hard to fit RF in the center seat of my Sonata. I'll look at the Size4Me.

I forgot to mention we also need a seat for the same child in my husband's 2001 4Runner. The needs would be the same except that convenience (for example, in the difficulty of adjusting the harness height) would be less of a factor since it will probably be used less. I'll see if the Size4Me works for both of us.

Thank you!

If you buy the angle adjuster to go with your Radian it'll give you a lot more room - it can give you up to 4" of additional space.... But you can't use it until baby is 1, so it might be a moot point....
