Coffee Break usability request.

OK, when I am in the main Coffee Break forum I have access to the two sub-forums. The problem is, that when I am one of the two sub-forums, I must go back to the main Coffee Break forum in order to switch to the other sub-forum. This is a PITA. Would it be possible to include the various iterations of the main and sub-forums as clickable choices based upon whether you are in the main Coffee Break forum, or in a sub-forum?

IE...

-SubF2

SubF1
-CB Forum
-SubF2

SubF2
-CB Forum
-SubF1

I don't think the coding would be too bad for this would it?

I will look into this, but I'm not sure if it is possible without using a third party addon/hack. You can use the Forum Jump menu at the bottom, though.

Jewels just made me discover the new post feature... click new posts at the top of the page and you will never have to switch between forums again.

It brings up the posts you have not read/responded to in *all* the forums.

Yeah, but there will be days and days when I just don't have time to read the forums or post, and when I get back a lot of the posts which are new to me, are marked as read in my browser. So I do a lot of going through posts from several pages back. The new post thing just doesn't work as well for me. I'll check out the forum jump feature though.

OK, the Forum Jump tool is great, but I would use it, heck would have known it was there, if it was at the top of the page instead of buried at the bottom. In a forum with a lot of posts, that sucker takes a lot of scrolling to get to.

Could you just move it to the top on the same bar as the Thread Tools, et al? I'd use it all the time if it was placed there.

Others lamented its removal a while back (to save resources when we were having slowdowns) because they couldn't easily switch forums when they were at the bottom of a page.

Perhaps I can find a way to put it in both locations, though.

What if it floated and moved down the page with you?

I haven't been able to find any standard options for this. There may be a 3rd party mod to do it, but I generally don't care to install addons if at all possible. They tend to require a lot more effort when it comes to updates and also introduce possible security issues. I'll look into it further when I can. Users are also welcome to suggest mods and addons, too. Good places to browse are:

Click anywhere in the window that is not a link. Then press the "End" button on your keyboard. Now, you're at the bottom of the page, no scrolling necessary. :thumbsup:

To get back up to the top, press the "Home" button on your keyboard.
