Booster on the side that that doesn't bother his injured clavicle. Assuming he can ride decently.
The oobr worked ok on the shortest setting for the quick trip to the doctor. It didn't hurt him anyway. Tomorrow we'll try the foonf, as we will have the normal school run schedules as well as doctor.
A high back TurboBooster may provide a better lap belt fit, and will make a great spare booster down the road!We used the Turbobooster when DD broke her clavicle at age 4 1/2.
What a cute kiddo! Sorry about the clavicle. It's probably just the angle of the photo but the shoulder belt looks about to fall off his shoulder, yet close to his neck, too. Does he have little shoulders? I also agree the lap belt looks high. What booster is that? I love the color.
The maximum rotation angle that is currently allowed by FMVSS213 was actually picked because at the time, there were rfing seats that didn't have a harness at all and that angle works with those seats. Knowing that, I'd be OK with a rfing seat with the harness moved up and lots of padding added to that shoulder and not ideally tight straps.
Also, can ambulances administer pain meds? Or, since bone breaks are a daily risk for him, can the doctor give you an emergency morphine patch to stick on him when he does have a break and transport is super painful?
