Question Checking Certifications?

Where do we go to check a CPST certification? I am in Okinawa, Japan on a military base. We supposedly have a single person that is a CPST but I want to verify that before I haul my butt across the island to go see him.

Is there a place to check and make sure someone is certified???

You can check the SafeKids website, but not everyone is listed. (You have to opt-in to be publicly listed, and not all of us do.)

You can ask him to fax (or scan and e-mail) a copy of his certification card to you. All currently certified techs have (or can print out) a printable wallet card. (It's not cut out unless you do it, so it could be on a bigger sheet of paper, and that's fine.) It should list his name, tech number, and the date his cert. is good through.

The SafeKids website has a list of techs. If they're listed there, they're valid. However, NOT being listed there does t necessarily mean someone isn't a tech, as not everyone chooses to be listed.

The only other thing you can do is call him to verify, and ask to see a copy of his wallet card/certificate when you get there. I realize that doesn't save you the hassle ahead of time though.

Thank you. I checked the list and foudn 2 but I "think" they may be in Korea. But I emailed one of them asking if he knows of one here on Okinawa. I can never seem to catch the one that is supposedly here on the island when I call the Safety Office.
