carseat in single cab truck

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup truck. It is a single cab and there is an option to turn off the passenger air bags. Is it safe to put a rear facing car seat in the truck? I am debating if to buy a new vehicle or not (no payment vs. new payment).

It's safe, in so much as it's still in the front seat. If a new car is feasible, then that would be optimal. If this is what you have and all you can do, then turn off the airbag with the key, put the baby on the passenger side, and you're ok.
