Question Car seat trouble

My son has a rare chromosome disorder and he is very small for his age as well as behind in many other aspects my problem is this he is about to reach max weight for his rear facing infant seat but he does not meet the height requirement for the next size up nor does he have stable enough head control to be in a front facing car or even the next step up rear facing seat what do I do where do I look please help

There are several convertible seats that fit newborns, so I'm sure we can find something that will work for him. Would you mind, please, sharing how old and heavy and tall he is, and anything else unique about him and his condition as it pertains to riding in the car. Does he need to be reclined for breathing, does he have equipment in the car with him, that sort of thing.

If he fits in an infant seat, he will fit in a rear-facing convertible seat, and there are plenty that will provide adequate head support. We can help you pick the most appropriate seat -- and keeping him rear-facing as long as possible is the most appropriate choice especially with poor head control.

Wendy & carseatcoach have steered you in the right direction. There will be many seat options for him. My dd came home from the hospital at 6 lbs and 20.5 inches in one of the smaller convertible car seats. (a Combi Coccoro). And there are definitely many others. Some are well known for giving a really nice recline and fit tiny ones well.
