Question Britax MA70 in 2008 Odyssey, which install? Two are pictured with different reclines.

Can a tech please or an experienced someone check the recline on these two different installations? I first installed RF with LATCH (A) and the second is with a rolled up towel underneath it (B). This is for a 17 month old 23 pound child.

Does Britax even allow the use of a rolled up towel to help with the recline?

It seemed way too upright to me the first time. This captains chair it has to be installed in has a deep bight.

They're both safe. Use whichever one you're more comfortable with. The towel is allowed.

You can use a pool noodle or tightly rolled towel to adjust the RF angle.

However, Britax allows you the full 30-45 degree angle range for acceptable RF installation.

For a 17-month old without any sort of underlying medical/health issue, an upright install is perfectly safe, as long as it meets all other installation criteria.

The install in the first picture looks fine to me, it's not any "straighter" than 30 degrees. If the blue line on the base is level to the ground, it's about 37.5 degrees.

Either one is fine, so...it's your call.

Excellent, thank you both for your responses. I will probably take the rolled towel out if the seat gets in the way of how far DH likes his driver seat.
