I would be so happy if the SR30 was up here! Hopefully it will be stand alone.

I have never seen a Graco infant seat up here sold only in a travel system. So I'd be pretty sure they'd sell it as a stand alone. It's pretty much always a color not available in a travel system, but they typically have a matching stroller available as a stand alone as well.

Of course, I could eat my words... but that's been the case so far.

Props to Kecia for getting the inside scoop on Canadian seats for us!

Good to know, don't need a stroller and we aren't picky when it comes to infant seat patterns :). I'm not due until mid Feb. So hopefully baby doesn't come early.

Sorry for the delay but I needed permission from Graco before I was able to post any details. Here is some additional info on the U.S. SR35 and the Canadian SR35 & 30:

SR35 with special infant insert that allows it to be rated down to 4 lbs is shipping now in the U.S. so it should start to pop up in stores very soon. All SR35 models going forward will have the 4 lb rating and the insert. There is no specific weight limit on the insert - use it until you feel your baby doesn't need it any more. Current insert is 2 separate pieces that attach together with velcro - use them together or just use one portion of it - your choice.

Canadian SR35 with 4lb limit is coming soon. "Wings" have been added to the front of the carrier shell to help it meet the new standard (cell phone pic below since the battery died in my real camera). Handle must be up in carry position in vehicle. There is no forward anti-rebound handle position.

SR30 coming to Canada also. Was told it will "be there by Jan 1". Handle will also be required to be up in vehicle. There were some modifications made to the EPS foam inside the seat in order to meet the 2012 CMVSS standards.

HTH!

Thanks Kecia! I'm really looking forward to seeing the new seat and it looks like it's in stock online already, so it might be in stock when I work next. :D
