We are expecting baby number 3 shortly and are trying to figure out what car seat to get. Right now DD is 4 years old 33lbs and FF in a Radian XT in one of the captains seats we are planning on moving her to the 3rd row middle seat in the Radian. DS1 is 3 years old 28lbs FF in a TrueFit in one of th captains chairs.
For the new baby we are going to be putting him in the captains chair behind the drivers seat. We are torn between getting a combi shuttle 33, Keyfit or the combi Coccoro. Does anyone know how much room we will have between the infant seat and the drivers seat it is about half way back. Also has anyone used the Coccoro from birth and did you miss not having an infant carrier seat?
Thanks

Don't know about a Coccoro specifically, but a lot of us here have skipped the infant seats (myself included) and I've never missed one. Well, maybe once or twice. Certainly not worth the $100+ you'd spend on one, at least IMO.

I really like the looks of the Coccoro and that it is small I have small babies both my DD and DS1 were only 5lbs at birth (full term) I am just nervous that I will miss having the carrier but I have a front pack carrier/sling I figure I can useor a stroller.
I am wondering if anyone has pics of the Coccoro installed in a van

The Coccoro would last you a good long while then, and it's stupidly cute. Most of us here wish we had a reason to have one. LOL

I keep a couple of slings in the car and I'm good. :)

The radian has a tricky install in the ody, in the 3rd row. I just did 3 across in my '05 ody with 3 radians (two FF, one RF) and the easiest trick is to recline the 3rd row some, install the seat, and then move the seat back up.

As for how to do it, i have some pics of how i've put my 3 kids in my ody, lemme see if i can dig out the pics for ya.

Here's one way i did it: (i removed the drivers side captains chair all the way, and put it in the garage.)

I'll see if i can find another one.

Thanks for the info. I am a little nervous about the instal on the Radian in the 3rd row I have heard it is not easy. We have a second TrueFit that is in my husbands truck that I could move to the van if the radian is not a good fit. I am just trying to us the radian so that we can have room for 2 more passengers if necessary in the 3rd row and the trufit is huge and would not leave much room in the back

I currently have THREE radians across in my back row. Two forward facing, one rear facing. I know a radian can work back there. You just need to know the tricks (that i just gave ya! )

My 5 month old rides in a Combi Coccoro and has since birth. I LOVE it!! It fits in our 99 Ford Escort even with my 6 ft tall husband driving. The newborn insert is great. I did find it a little difficult to get the harness tight enough when he was a newborn, but my husband could tighten it just fine, and now that he is bigger it is easier for me to do. I did miss the carrier a little, but those things are so darn heavy, I couldn't carry it for long anyway.

Headed to bed (I'm sick) so no time to read replies sorry if this has already been said.

I have 2 Cocorros, one for my 4 month old son and one for my 2 year old daughter. I *adore* them. They are more comfortable for the kids (and me!), they fit in my car better, it's a breeze to install/uninstall both the kids and the seats, (they stay clean better!) and I have never once missed having an infant seat. I read that it's dangerous to keep infants in the seats outside the car, because when you set them on the ground, the horizontal plane is not the same as when they are buckled into the car and infants have choked on the seatbelts (shudder). I've found I don't miss that convenience nearly as much as I thought I would, and I really like (and my son really likes) the openness of the Cocorro versus the more closed in nature of an infant seat. That, of course, is going to be child specific. My son's a bit of a wild boy, doesn't want swaddles or any of that baby nonsense! ;)
