Yes I believe the car seat is expired. She stated she bought it back in 1999. Probably would not be a great seat to use anyway because of its 3 point harness.

I remember seeing some Evenflo Discovery 3 point harnessed seats at a flea market when visiting my mom in Florida and thought for sure they were expired, but they actually were only a couple of years old IIRC . . .

I had one (not to use in the car) that was made in 2007. Plenty of time left.

They were all recalled, though. The fly-off-the-base recall.
