Hi all,
I am having twins in 4 months and have a 20 month old. Has anyone had 3 car seats that fit in the 2nd row of the Highlander? I need 2 infant carriers that will fit with FF Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Car Seat . I will buy 3 new carseats that will make the puzzle fit. It would be a whole lot cheaper then buying a new car. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Welcome.

Are you aware that your 20 month old does not yet meet the minimum recommendations for forward facing, and is years away from forward facing according to best practice?

I'd buy a seat to rear face the 20 month old in today.

As for the twins, I'd look at the Graco Snugride 30, Chicco Keyfit, Safety 1st onBoard 35. They all fit small babies well, and have rectangular bases so they fit next to other seats usually pretty well. The Snugride is probably the narrowest.

For your 20 month old I'd probably look at a Radian, or Clek Foonf, rear face them for another two years or more. Both the Radian and Foonf (out in September) are narrow and long lasting convertible seats. The Nautilus would likely have to be replaced even if your child was old enough to safely use it as it's not a seat that tends to play well with others. But the Radian and Foonf are narrow and good for three across situations.

Hi!

I have an '05 Toyota Highlander. I'm not sure when they changed the body style to know if yours is the old or the new one, but I have done a ton of 3 across situations in mine. (And have one currently for everyday use.) I think if you get a Radian and Rear face in the center, you should be able to fit 2 infant seats on either side of it. You will want to install everything with the seatbelt to give you more room to work with. I have done this particular install with 2 Keyfit infant seats. Your best bet, however, will be to order/get a radian first, then take the car with the radian installed to Babies R Us or another store that will let you take the seats out to your car to try them before purchasing. Most Babies R Us do not carry Radians in store.

Buy Buy Baby carries Radians, if you have one near. I know the Radian center of scoutingbear's car is a super easy, upright install!
