I'm in love w/ the Symphony latch!

Why can't every seat latch like this?! I had a mom come in w/ one on Saturday and it was amazing. She had it in great, I was amazed. I played w/ it b/c she said I could, lol. I hooked it up, used one hand to push it down and that was it. Super tight and soooo easy. I would see a lot less misuse if all seats that this. :)

I do want to play with one of those... looks like it's excellent in some cars and horrible in others... cool concept though for sure.

Isn't it COOL! Our Safe Kids coordinator saw her first one (actually we saw two in a row) at a seat check in April and both installs were PERFECT. The first one was so tight she had trouble getting it out, and the news was filming her, hahaha!

I'm seriously considering it for A's sibling (if they have LATCH) because it's SO easy.

I told the mom this was the first one I'd ever seen and she was shocked. She thought everyone would want to get one b/c it was so cool. lol It seems like it has such a short shell though. Her baby was only 10 mos old and just looked so close to the top of the seat, but it's hard to know w/ the headrest in the way.

I like it but it's not as nice as the SafeGuard Child Seat's. ;)

It actually has a pretty tall shell and EXTREMELY tall top slot setting.

Granted, I've only tried it in a Honda Accord, but I hated it. It was nearly impossible to do. And the seat was so big there was a question if 80% of it was on the backseat. And the Honda's backseat isn't terribly short.

Piper sat in it the other day at BRU, said, "ewwww," and got out. hehe She's far too big for it except as a booster, but she was not impressed enough to have me yank it down to try (if it'd been pink it may have been a different story).

I was very impressed with the Symphony. Very tall top straps. I'm not sure if the 1" rule would apply to the headrest or the shell itself for RF'ing though.

It applies to the headrest. I asked the engineer at Lifesavers. He also said that they are redesigning it to be baseless, and with higher weight limits both rfing and ffing and expect to re-release it in the fall.

Awesome! If that seat had higher limits I would be all over it.

Dude, if Evenflo makes the Symphony RF to 40, and Dorel comes out with a 40 lb. RF seat, and SK swears that this time they're really testing to 40 or more RF... How long d'ya think until Britax makes one? Think they'll wait for Combi to do it too?

See there was nothing I could find in the manual that said shell or headrest. All other seats are the actual shell, not the headrest. Yes, if the headrest is included it's fine.

We didn't do it ffing at all, just rfing and it was super easy. I should've taken it out and turned it around once, lol. Mom was all for rfing though it seemed so hopefully it'll stay that way for a long time. I always wonder how long rfing actually lasts though once baby is legal. Wish I could follow up on these people sometimes.
