Backless Booster: Front seat of a 2000 Tundra

Hello - My husband is a cub scout leader and sometimes needs to drive boys to cub scout meetings. I'm wondering if we can use a nbb (Graco turbo) in the front seat of our truck. Here are the details:

Truck is a 2000 Tundra
All three back seat positions would be occupied by other scouts, ages 8, 8, and 7, leaving only the front seat as an option.
Passenger side air bag in the front can be disabled with the ignition key
Our son is 8 years old, 54" tall and weights 58#'s
He is very close to 5 stepping in the back seat of the truck, but the front seat is much longer, so he needs to sit in something.

If he fits properly, and has enough head and leg excursion room, and that's what you need to do, that's what you need to do.

The three kids in the back all have lap and shoulder belts, and headrests to the tops of their ears? If not, it's not safe for them to be in the backseat.
