Front to back room

I installed my Peg convertible behind the driver rather than the passenger last night to use for Griffin today because I thought I would have all 4 kids and one would have to ride in front and I wanted to be able to put the seat back as far as possible.

I was so surprised that I had more room there than behind the passenger. I feel too close to the dash in the passenger seat but I didn't have to move my drivers seat up to accommodate the Peg.

I thought I'd share my find so that it might help someone else. :)

What vehicle? Maybe the seats are slightly differently shaped? Or you just got a different install this time?

It makes sense if you aren't super tall -- I sit closer up as a driver because I need to reach the pedals comfortably and be more upright. As a passenger, I recline my seat more and want more legroom. I feel more cramped with a seat behind me as a passenger because I expect a more "lounging" posture.

It could be the seat cushion is more worn on the driver's side, so the seat pushes in further. In my sister's Odyssey we've always gotten a more upright install with a Radian in one captains chair. I've finally decided one seat cushion must be more worn and compressible.

The install does seem more upright to me so that's probably the reason. Hardly ever does anyone sit in the back so it's probably not that the seat is more compressed. I generally have my seat fairly upright. Knee room seems to be more on the driver's side. As in the dash is more concave at the driver's knees.

With the seats evenly placed, (passenger seat even with my driving position which is the position used if someone is riding in the passenger seat with the car seat behind them) there is more room between the driver's seat and the car seat than on the other side. I drive and ride with the seat back on the 5th click.

That's about as scientific as I can get! Looking at it again, I think the install IS more upright.
