In Search Of Girl's raincoat

My oldest is starting kindergarten in a week and will be riding the bus. I'd like to get her a nice raincoat and haven't been able to find anything in a store. She wears size 6 shirts and loves purple and all things girly. I'd like to stay away from licensed characters.

I see you're in TX, where you won't really need a big heavy coat later. Last year, I got DD this Columbia jacket, and a Columbia fleece. When it's warm, she can just wear the jacket. If it's cold, too, she can wear the fleece under it (although it doesn't zip in.)

No big coat needed we usually get by with hoodies and fleece all year. Your link is not working I'm getting a knife.

ETA: Your right something that can be layered on those rare cold days would be perfect.

Weird! It's working for me. Anyway, it's the Columbia Lake of Lace Jacket. You can Google. That BobWards.com comes up with one that is pink and purple in a 6 for $26. Or maybe my version is cached and they sold out...Anyway.

My Costco membership just expired. I ordered some on Land's end with a discount code. Now I just have to call them and figure out why I didn't get my free shipping. I wasn't planning on buying for both kids but I think the way they are sized I can easily get 2 years out of them.
