Several outages this morning

There were at least three that I caught, lasting several minutes (3-5) each, between 4:20 and 5:07 am pacific time. confirmed down by isup.me

In between, several times the site was slow as molasses.

It seems to be working ok now, but thought I'd let you know in case it's a sign of things to come or something...

The monitoring service picked up two that lasted a few minutes on Friday morning, but nothing overnight. It can miss those that last only a few minutes sometimes, because I think it checks every 3 minutes. I was told it was a network issue but I will report these also, thanks!

Apparently they were issues related to a denial of server attack on another server in the same datacenter. I'm told all issues are resolved now.

Even the most innocent of websites can be the target of denial of service attacks, unfortunately. Fortunately, since late last year, Car-Seat.Org no longer shares a server with any other website, other than CarseatMoms.com. Of course, the next blade in the rack could host a few hundred websites. Most reputable hosts, including the one that hosts Car-Seat.org, specifically prohibit any type of illegal website content or server use. Even so, like most hosts, I suspect they don't actively monitor for this stuff and only shut people down if they cause a problem.
