which baby carrier for a forward facing infant?

my brother uses a moby for his 3 month old, he asked me to show him how to wrap it so that she can face out, I explained to him that that's dangerous, but I'm not familiar enough with carriers to recommend one that can be used forward facing, he asked about baby bjorn and I told him about how they're bad for developing hips and spine. Any suggestions?

I'll let babe face out (kangaroo carry) in a ring sling once there's adequate head control. There's no dangling in that carry.

Have him look at the videos for the Secure High Back Carry (SHBC) on YouTube. That will let babe look over his shoulder to see what's in front.

To do any sort of back carry you need a woven wrap (Girasol, didymos, BB slen, ect.) NOT a stretchy wrap like the moby. There is a very real risk of a baby falling out or flipping out of a back carry in a stretchy wrap.

I told him that, I recommended he wraps her on his shoulder in the front that way she can look over his shoulder but still keep a hand on her, or i told him he can do a modified cradle carry so she can sit more upright and look around,
I also told him about making sure her airways clear and her knees are higher than her bottom. I told him when shes a little bigger he can try my mai tai for a back carry

I don't see how a baby could fall out of a properly tied wrap in a back carry, whether it's knit or woven.

I think "properly" is the key word. Moby used to say it's ok to do a back carry with their wrap but babies would flip backwards out of them, I"m guessing most of it was due to user error. I can understand how it would be a concern with a stretchy wrap, the fabric starts to give after being wrapped and if a parent isn't being diligent and checking the baby's position ( I always take a glance when I pass by reflective surfaces just to make sure) I can see how it would happen if the wrap job was sloppy or inadequate

I'd do a Buddha carry with a RS as well.

But the Gemini and pikkolo both do FFC. I have a pikkolo. You can definitely get a correct seat with it but you have to know what that is to check it. That's said, even folded in an apron fold, I don't know that a 3m old would be able to see out. My 5m old just fits it now.

A video link on why to never do a back carry with a stretchy wrap. It is just not safe.

I do a pouch carry facing outward in my ring slings with noob-ish babies sometimes, but they have had great head control from birth.

Also, the title of this thread about gave me a heart attack. ;)
