I'm curious to know what you thought of them in comparison to gDiapers?
Also, do they fit n00bs well?
How would you compare the 1-size approach of Flips to the different sizes of gDiapers?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm interested, but also curious about the differences, KWIM?

Not the OP but IMO Flips blow G-dipes out of the water. I used G-dipes first and then got some Flips and I was amazed at how trim, absorbent and leak proof the Flips were. I always had wicking issues with the G-dipes. Plus with G-dipes you have those annoying snap in plastic liners that can only be washed on cold or warm (so you can't wash them with your other dipes) or you ruin the elastic casing (it cracks). You have to replace the liners often and they are not cheap! I always washed mine by hand because of this, which did seem to help.

I'm not sure how the Flips would fit a noob as I didn't start using them till my guy was 10mo. I know they do sell a 6 pack of newborn stay dry inserts now for the Flips on Cottonbabies and they are very decently priced.

If I were to have another LO I think I would start out with with some size XS Bumgenius AIO's along with Flips with the newborn inserts.:twocents:

I am in total agreement with PP. I also started out with G diapers, and plain and simple I feel they aren't even in the same league as flips. You don't have to worry about the annoying snap in liners and the covers on the flips can be rinsed out and hung dry and are typically dry in as little as 10-15 minutes. I find that they adjust pretty small (as shown below, S was in the gdiaper small and wore the flip on the smallest setting), but also goes pretty large, Odin has already grown out of large gdiapers (although we stopped using them a while ago), however he's only on the 2nd or 3rd set of rise snaps in the flips, he's about 32lbs, wearing 3T and 4T clothes at nearly 3.

Not a noob, but here's S at 8 months (about 12lbs, wearing 0-3 month clothes)

Here's a different baby S at 3 months, around 9lbs, wearing 0-3 month clothes.

In comparison, here's the first S and Odin in g diapers, S is in a small, Odin is in a medium.

Thanks, zactayaus.

I'm coming from using gDiapers with the flushies & am curious about doing some cloth with the next one. Flips intrigue me because I could use gDiaper flushies in them sometimes (I think...I thought I remembered people on the gDiaper Yahoo Group doing this). The thought of all cloth intimidates me

I know what you mean about the gLiners, but I've had decent luck with them & actually have some new ones waiting for the next one (DD's mostly grown out of g's, although we use them for PTing a bit). I would like something that fits a teeny n00b since DD was small (5# 11oz) at birth & I expect to grow a similarly small peanut this time around. gDiapers sells newborn size gs that are very similar to Flips, but they are only available as a bundle & I don't need everything that's included.

I use the G-flushies in my flips all the time. And want to talk about trim. That is seriously the trimmest combo I've ever found!
