Help, please!

I have a 2000 Nissan Xterra, rear hip room is 51.89", rear shoulder room is 54.40", though the seats do curve up a bit on each outboard.

I will need two FF, for a 3 year old and a 5 year old
I will need a RF infant seat, and already have the Graco Snugride

Do you know of any configurations where the Graco Snugride should work? If not I want to get the Safety 1st Interra (install w/o base) while they're on sale for 99.99!

For the two FF, why do most people have one Radian and one Regent? Does it have to do with the way they fit together? Or would 2 Radians be just the same? My ds's are both very tall for their age so maybe they'd fit longer in the Regent??

My hopes are FF Radian or Regent on each outboard (to keep those two from bugging eachother  ) with the Graco Snugride in the center. But really ANY configuration for a 5yo, 3yo, and infant in the Xterra is my biggest concern!

TIA
Ann

You need to measure the torso height of the 3 and 5 yr old to get an idea of what they can fit in. What carseats are they currantly in?

Scratch the Regent off the list--you won't get that 21.5 inch wide seat in a three-across in the Xterra. The Radian is only 17 inches wide at the widest point, so you'll have much better luck with that. And WendyTThomas, a tech here, has an Xterra and a Radian, so hopefully she sees this thread. :)

Knowing the 5yo's and 3yo's heights and weights, their current seats and how they are fitting (specifically how much space they have above the shoulders before going over the top slots) will be immensely helpful.

I am sure you can get three across with a Snugride. I can get the Cosco Scenera, Graco Snugride and Graco Turbobooster in my 2001 Escape. The TB is wide and barely fits. I would think for sure that two Radians and a Snugride would fit. In my configuration, the Scenera and Turbo are outboard. Two FF seats don't really fit well next to each other in my car. Definately post back with their weights and torso heights. I am certain there is something that will work.

There is NO way you're getting two Regents and anything else back there. Maybe if you stood the baby up... LOL

I have a 2001 Xterra. I currently for kicks have FFing Wizard/Radian/Wizard in there. The Radian is installable outboard, but it's not as secure as in the middle. Which is fine, since a RFing child has more protection anyway and so should go in a lesser protected spot (to give a lesser protected child the benefit of the better position), and you'd probably not want to heave an infant over into the middle anyway.

I don't know what seats your kids are in now, but a Wizard FFing, Radian FFing, and snugride RFing *should* fit.
