What is your 4 year old riding in?

My godson is about 4.5, somewhere between 45-50 pounds and has always been at the top if the height percentiles. His full time rides are an Argos, a MyRide that's got to be very close to outgrown and a SureRide. I keep a Frontier 85 for him, and he might still fit in his Triumph.

My DS1 is 3.5 with similar stats, he's about 34lbs and 40". He is RF in a Foonf and NextFit. We have a Harmony Defender waiting for him and I am tossing around the idea of a Frontier too. I'm just not ready to turn him and he's never asked so for now he'll keep RFing.

My oldest was in a classic marathon and a turbo booster at 4. My girls were in frontier 85s at 4 (which they are still in). I am thinking my youngest will be in a radian ff at that point but am not completely sure.

My 3.3yr old has almost the same stats (just a smidgen over 39" and is 31-32lbs). When he's a month or two past 3 & 1/2 yrs, he'll turn ff and ride in a Performance Sport.

I've tried to "Thank" each of you, but apparently that's too many. LOL

DH wants the FR90, I think it's slightly overkill, but the click tight would be nice.

Decisions, decisions..... :p

My DD is 4 (5 next month), 44" and 35 lbs.

In the past year, we have used: Frontier 85, Pinnacle, Pioneer, Argos, Performance Sport, and will be trying the KidsEmbrace shortly.

So far, Performance Sport is the winner for us. Love it.

I feel like the Pro/PerformaceSport is really under-recommended on the Interwebz. It absolutely has its quirks, but for kids who aren't bothered by the belt routing (none of mine have ever been, and I've had five or six use it,) and who won't hit the 52lb tether limit, I think it's a great, often overlooked option.

LIS, interested to hear what you think about KE!!

My 4 year old is 42 inches, 43 pounds. He's FF in a Radian. He's all torso, and will outgrow the radian in a few more inches. Planning on a FR90. Sitting still is not his strong point.

Addilynn will be 5 next month but she rode rf in a radian until she was 4 now she is ff in a FN85. We will booster train for emergencies this summer but she will stay in the FN until she turns 6 at least. Oh stats are current in my siggy

DS is 4.5, about 45" tall I think (need to re-measure) and about 46 lbs.

He currently rides in a Graco Nautilus and Frontier85. Occasionally a Radian65. Haven't had him in the Generations in awhile so not sure if he still fits (use it for carpool kid).

Asked him yesterday which he liked best and he said the Frontier.

We will be getting our refund soon and I will be getting DD a new seat. Of course, I always know what I want when I have no money, and now that I know I can pick something........I'm lost. LOL

So what is *your* 4 year old riding in?

DD is 4.5, 31 pounds (fully clothed with shoes), and around 39".

She is FF for the most part, but I am not dead set on a FF only seat.

We already own a FR80, ProRide, and SureRide.

I know I don't want a foonf. ;)

Sassy has almost the same stats as your DD. She is just under 30lbs and 38". She rides RF in and RXT and either RF/FF in her Pria, depending on my mood, lol. I still love both of those seats, but I'm itching to try something new. The problem is, neither DH nor I have lower anchors in our vehicles, and I dislike using big combo seats as boosters without having them LATCHed. So if I were to get a new seat, I'd be either mostly wasting the booster capacity or the RF capacity, depending on which I chose. Clear as mud?

Good luck deciding!

Owen turned 4 last October, 44lbs and almost 45 inches. He rides in a FR90 in my car (which i highly recommend, although it might be overkill for a small-ish 4 YO), and a CA65 in DH's car.

Katelyn and Owen are 4 years, 7 months. I think Katelyn is about 44" and 42 lbs. and Owen is about 41" and 39 lbs. In their mom's vehicle, they are riding in the Argos. In my car I have a FR90 and an Argos and I have a brand new FR90 still in the box that I can use.
